NORTIA congratulates its 2019/20 Early-career Residency Researchers!

One of the aims of NORTIA, the Jean Monnet Network on Research & Teaching in EU Foreign Affairs, is to promote Phd students and early career researchers. In early 2019 NORTIA - with the support of UACES - opened a competitive call for its PhD bursaries and early-career researcher bursaries to visit one of the NORTIA partner institutions for a 2-3 months research stay. The aim of the residencies is the provide research and training support, but also to facilitate the creation of strong networks and opportunities for future research collaborations. 

After a competitive selection process, we are very pleased to congratulate following colleagues to their NORTIA early-career residencies 2010:

  • Irene Morlino (London School of Economics) will be visiting IBEI, Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals for her research on EU-UN relations; effectiveness of EU humanitarian aid policy.

  • Sharon Lecocq (KU Leuven) will be visiting IBEI, Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals, for her research on international norm contestation in the EU’s Southern Neighbourhood.

  • Diana Potjomkina (United Nations University – CRIS, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Ghent University) will be visiting ARENA Centre for European Studies, University of Oslo, for her research on multistakeholderism in the EU’s external trade policy.

  • Claudia Rives (Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona) will be visiting KU Leuven for her research on EU foreign policy and EU-China relations.

  • Anke Schwarzkopf (University of Oslo) will be visiting KU Leuven for her research on the EU’s role as a negotiator actor in multilateral negotiations.

  • Isabell Burmester (University of Geneva) will be visiting the University of Maastricht for her research on EU and Russian hegemony in the Eastern Partnership countries.
