CfP: Innovative Teaching on European Foreign Affairs, EUSA 2019

Submitted by Maastricht University on Wed, 06/20/2018 - 17:29

We are looking for paper proposals to submit a panel on “Innovative teaching on European foreign affairs” for the EUSA Conference in Denver, 9-11 May 2019. The idea of this panel is to build on the success of two teaching panels at the EU in international affairs conference organised by Arne Niemann and Friedrich Plank (Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz) and to continue academic exchanges on teaching issues as promoted by the Jean Monnet Network NORTIA: Nertwork on Research and Teaching in EU Foreign Affairs.

The aim of the panel is to share best practices in innovative European foreign policy teaching and to showcase how general trends in higher education (e.g. digitalisation, fake news, etc) but also foreign policy dynamics impact the way we teach. Also, we hope to discuss what peculiarities teaching European foreign affairs should consider, and where commonalities exist with other subjects like foreign policy analysis or EU politics.

Please send your proposal (title, synopsis of 150 words, contact details ) by 7 September 2018 to h.maurer@lse.ac.uk
